As a successful and much sought-after stand up, actor, writer
and presenter, Jack Whitehall has firmly established himself as one
of the UK's most exciting and successful comedy talents, a
statement cemented by his Award for the King of Comedy at the 2012
British Comedy Awards. A talented actor, Jack received critical
acclaim and another British Comedy Award nomination for his
portrayal of former public schoolboy JP in the hit C4 comedy drama
Fresh Meat. Jack received similar praise for his revival of JP in
the second series of the show, as well as being nominated for Best
Comedy Performance at the Royal Television Society Awards.
Recording finished for series three in August 2013 and broadcast
the following Autumn.
In August 2012 the first series of Bad Education, a sitcom
written by Jack and starring him as Alfie, aired on BBC3. The
opening episode attracted a highly impressive cumulative audience
of 3 million and now into its second series, which aired in August
of this year, Bad Education continues to attract huge audience
figures. In October 2012 Jack appeared as the regular panelist for
Sky 1's A League of Their Own, other recent television appearances
include QI, Have I Got News For You, Live at the Apollo, The Graham
Norton Show, Big Fat Quiz of the 90's and the first ever Secret
Policeman's Ball to be presented at the Radio City Hall in New
York. His first stand-up DVD: Jack Whitehall Live, filmed at the
Hammersmith Apollo, was released in November 2012 and entered into
the Top Ten Comedy DVD Charts for Christmas 2012. This March, Jack
announced his biggest tour to date Jack Whitehall Gets Around, this
brand new show will see Jack performing in arenas 'in the round', a
UK first for a solo stand-up tour, which will run over two weeks
during March 2014, taking in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Newcastle,
Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff
and London.
